Lucas dreamed of visiting the Rega Center

During his treatment, Lucas often saw Rega helicopters landing on the hospital roof. As time went on, Lucas looked forward to seeing this beautiful and powerful red machine and began to cherish the idea of one day being able to see it up close. At the age of 4, this dream never left him and he told us that his dearest wish was to visit a Rega Center.

On a beautiful spring day, Lucas and his family took the train to the huge Zurich airport. There he met his Make-A-Wish volunteer, who came to accompany him on his big day. At the Rega Center, the whole group was warmly welcomed for a wonderful tour of every corner of the base. Sam learned a lot about Rega. In addition, a Rega hospital plane was parked and Lucas was able to get in it, before receiving some wonderful gifts. Afterwards, the whole family went to a restaurant where they could admire the planes.

A few days later, Lucas had an appointment with Raphael, the helicopter pilot, who took him from the field next to his house to fly first over Lucerne then over Lake Lucerne and the Schwyz region. Lucas came back speechless not only from the beauty of all these landscapes, but also because he was completely overwhelmed by beautiful emotions.
