At just 10 years old, Léana has shown remarkable courage in the face of illness. Suffering from osteosarcoma with pulmonary recurrence, her daily life is punctuated by treatments and medical constraints. Despite this, a dream has long haunted her: to see the sea, breathe the sea air, and experience a few days of peace surrounded by her parents and older sister.
Thanks to the rapid mobilization of our team and the support of the caregivers, her wish was granted in just a few days. This wish was urgent, as Léana's health condition made it impossible to wait. We had to act quickly—and together, we did.
During the month of April, Léana saw her dream come true. She and her family went to Cannes, and she finally saw the sea. The sun, the sand, the endless horizon… everything she had imagined. The family stayed in a magnificent hotel that made them feel, in their words, "like kings"It was in this soothing setting that Léana was able to reconnect with simple but essential sensations: walking barefoot on the beach, feeling the wind, laughing with her sister, swimming... for the first time since the start of her illness.
She told us: “I felt completely free.”
Léana and her family experienced this stay as a truly blissful interlude. Every moment counted, every smile was precious. For her mother:
“This trip will remain etched in our hearts. Without Make-A-Wish, it would have been impossible.”
This wish wasn't just a journey, but a moment of respite, pure joy, and strengthened family bonds. It allowed Léana to escape, to become a child again, and for her family to create bright memories, filled with hope.
