From August 21 to 24, 2024, Make-A-Wish Switzerland & Liechtenstein had the immense honor of participating in the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad, one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Swiss Alps.
In the spectacular setting of Gstaad, surrounded by majestic peaks and a vibrant atmosphere, we had the opportunity to share our mission with a new audience, meet inspiring partners and share unique moments with generous and passionate people.
The sports values – team spirit, sharing, perseverance, and hard work – resonate deeply with those of Make-A-Wish. Just like the athletes who fight with determination to achieve their goals, our team works with the same passion and commitment to grant the wishes of critically ill children. These shared values bring us closer to such major sporting events, where performance and solidarity go hand in hand to create a lasting impact.
Among the most memorable moments of this weekend, we had the surprise and joy of meeting Christmas, a former Make-A-Wish recipient from Los Angeles whose wish was granted in 2018. This exceptional encounter deeply touched us, and we look forward to sharing his moving story in a future article.
We address our sincere thanks to the management of the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad for their warm welcome and for allowing us to be part of this exceptional tournament. Through these types of events, we can increase the visibility of our mission, inspire new supporters, and continue to make children's eyes shine.
