On Saturday, October 4, Make-A-Wish Switzerland had the pleasure of organizing an exceptional day in collaboration with our ambassador and chef Philippe Ligron, as well as the Ma Terre association and the Partage Foundation.
An event based on the common values that unite us: health, sharing, and the world of childhood.
The day began in the spectacular kitchen of Ma Terre, where several Make-A-Wish beneficiary families had the chance to cook alongside chef Philippe Ligron.
In a joyful and welcoming atmosphere, each participant was able to create a complete menu—starter, main course, and dessert—using fresh, local produce. The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in every step of the preparation process, handling the ingredients, discovering new flavors, and sharing bursts of laughter with their parents and the chef.
One of the highlights of the morning was the discovery of Philippe Ligron's famous flour mill, a machine as impressive as it was fascinating for the children. With it, they learned how to transform lentils into a fine flour before creating their own crispy lentil chips—a workshop as fun as it was delicious, which made the eyes of all the little apprentice cooks sparkle.
Meanwhile, another group of families had the opportunity to visit the Ferme de Budé, an emblematic site of responsible production and connection to nature. Accompanied by the team from the ma-terre association, they learned more about short supply chains, sustainability, and the value of local agricultural work.
After this morning filled with culinary discoveries and emotions, the day continued with Philippe Ligron's Talks.
Under the theme “Light thoughts and gastronomic meditations”, the chef was able to captivate an audience of professionals from the world of hospitality and catering with his humor, his generosity and his contagious passion.
This moment of exchange and reflection was also marked by wonderful reunions between long-time friends united by the same passion: that of taste, sharing and transmission.
Between laughter, anecdotes, emotions and tastings, the participants savored an inspiring and human interlude, reflecting the chef's career and the values of Make-A-Wish.
This day once again demonstrated that cooking is a wonderful vehicle for unity, learning and hope.
Behind every smile, every meal prepared, and every moment shared, there was the same energy: that of restoring joy, creating connections, and nurturing hope within Make-A-Wish families.
A huge thank you to Philippe Ligron for his generosity and communicative energy, to Ma Terre and the Partage Foundation for their unwavering commitment, as well as to all the families present for their enthusiasm and trust.
This day will be remembered as a magical moment of solidarity, conviviality and shared happiness, where gastronomy served as a bridge between hearts.
