The summit of a dream – Camille's ascent of the Bishorn
At 17, Camille fulfilled a dream she had cherished since the end of her treatments: climbing a peak over 4,000 meters in Switzerland. Passionate about the mountains and driven by a deep desire to push her limits, she wanted to achieve a powerful, symbolic, and demanding goal. Thanks to Make-A-Wish Switzerland, and the support of her wish coordinators, Maria and Nathalie, this dream came true through a Wish Journey exceptional.
A powerful dream born from resilience
After a period marked by physical difficulties — walking without pain was already a challenge — Camille wanted to regain confidence in her body. Climbing a 4000m was symbolic for her: proving that she could achieve an ambitious goal and regain her strength.
A Wish Journey built step by step
Anticipation 1 – Meeting with the guide
In Lausanne, Camille and her family met the Make-A-Wish team and the guide who would accompany the expedition for the first time. Together, they analyzed the feasibility of the dream. This led them to choose the Bishorn (4,153 m), a summit that would allow the whole family to accompany Camille to the top.
This first meeting makes the project concrete and establishes the basis for the adventure to come.
Anticipation 2 – Equipment Preparation
Maria and Nathalie, our wish coordinators in charge of Camille's wish project, join her in a shop in Geneva to choose and rent all the necessary equipment: crampons, technical clothing, safety equipment.

Anticipation 3 – Altitude Training
The team meets up with the guide for a day of preparation at altitude. On the agenda: learning to walk roped together, using crampons, and adapting to the altitude.
Despite the overcast weather, Camille experienced this stage as a revelation:
« I saw that I was capable and that I didn't need to worry about the climb. I was so looking forward to the big day. »
Wish fulfilled – An unforgettable climb
On July 30, 2025, Camille and her family meet in Zinal for the start of their adventure. After five hours of walking and 1600 m of elevation gain, they reach the Tracuit hut (3256 m), where they spend the night to prepare for the final ascent.
Wake-up call at 4:30 a.m. Under the stars, the family prepares and ropes up for the climb. Little by little, the clouds dissipate, revealing a spectacular sunrise.
The climb is demanding: altitude, fatigue, elevation gain… but Camille moves forward with determination.
At 9:30 a.m., she reached the summit of the Bishorn.
A 360° view, a perfectly clear sky, and a magical moment shared with family.
« Being at the top of a 4000-meter peak is something magical! " Camille recounts.
The descent, sometimes sitting in the snow, is filled with laughter and emotion.
After more than 11 hours of walking in total, they reached Zinal, exhausted but amazed.
The impact of a transformative dream
For Camille, this rise marks a key milestone:
« I am proud of how far I have come. I am gradually regaining my abilities and I want to climb even higher. »
His mother shared a deeply moving testimony:
« This wish was a source of immense emotion. Camille's will, her perseverance, her strength… I am so proud. »
