At only 4 years, Lirian, who lives in the canton of St. Gallen, has gone through an immense ordeal. Suffering from cancer, he spent a large part of the year in the hospital, far from his daily life, his games and his brothers.
After this difficult period, his biggest dream was simple and deeply touching: to leave with his whole family for Ravensburger Spielelandin Germany, to explore, play, laugh and fully rediscover one's place as a child.
A Wish Journey focused on family
When our volunteers Shyla et Christoph When they meet Lirjan, they discover a little boy who is initially shy, but quickly becomes full of energy as soon as he is surrounded by his brothers and his favorite toys.
Lirjan loves playing hide-and-seek, running, jumping, cooking with his mom, and playing with his cars, stuffed animals, tools, and fire trucks. After a year marked by illness, this wish represented much more than a trip to the park for him: it was an opportunity to rediscover the world, to play freely, and to share precious time with his parents and two older brothers.
While awaiting the fulfillment of his wish, everything was carefully prepared for him. Lirjan received a surprise and the promise of a wonderful family trip, a promise that would soon become reality.
A stay full of surprises
In June 2026, Lirjan finally leaves with her family for Ravensburger Spieleland, in Meckenbeuren.
From the moment they arrive, the magic begins: the room is decorated especially for him. Lirjan is amazed and immediately feels unique.
His family recounts:
"He was overjoyed to discover the decorated room. He felt special."
The rest of the stay is filled with discoveries: a guided tour of the park, souvenir photos, a whole day to try out new attractions, smile, explore and enjoy the moment.
In the evening, another surprise awaits him: during a dance performance, Lirjan receives a gift in front of the other guests, to applause.
"He felt special, and we, as parents, were happy to see him so fulfilled."
To get his smile back
For Lirjan, certain moments will remain particularly etched in his memory: arriving in the decorated room, the surprise with Lotti Karotti and the train journey through Ravensburger Spieleland.
But for his family, the most beautiful memory lies elsewhere.
"The most beautiful moment for us was seeing Lirjan happy and fulfilled after so long."
His parents had simply hoped to give him a nice moment. In the end, the experience exceeded their expectations.
"We wanted to give our child a wonderful break. In the end, everything was even better organized than we had imagined."
During this stay, Lirjan rediscovered something essential.
"After a long time, he was able to become himself again."
For her parents, seeing her smile return was an immense gift.
"We were happy and, during that moment, carefree. We were able to enjoy her smile again after so long."
This wish brought Lirjan and her family joy, happiness, respite, distraction and moments of family togetherness.
Beyond the attractions, it is the feeling of being recognized, celebrated and surrounded that will remain in Lirjan's heart.
"He will cherish this special feeling and the gratitude of having been recognized."
His parents, for their part, leave with immense gratitude towards all the people who made this wish possible.
"Above all, we are grateful to the organizers and everyone involved for their help. For us, everything was perfect; nothing was lacking."
Lirjan's Wish Journey reminds us that a wish can offer much more than a day of happiness.
It allows a seriously ill child to regain their carefree spirit, siblings to share new memories, and an entire family to breathe after months of hardship.
Thank you to our volunteers for accompanying Lirjan and his family on this wonderful adventure.
